UFC’s schedule for rest of 2016 includes two events on November 19
The UFC has unveiled its schedule for the rest of 2016, and they’ll be having two pay-per-views in December, as well as two events in one day in mid-November.
Somewhat lost in all of the UFC 202 hoopla was the UFC’s unveiling of its event calendar for October through December 2016. Dave Sholler announced the list of upcoming fight cards for the 4th quarter of the year during Friday’s UFC 204 press conference. October will be light, but November and December will be incredibly busy. The events are as follows:
October 8th (PPV) – UFC 204: Bisping vs. Henderson 2 (Manchester, England)
October 15th (Fight Pass) – UFC Fight Night: Lamas vs. Penn (Manila, Philippines)
November 5th (FS1) – The Ultimate Fighter Latin America 3 Finale: Dos Anjos vs. Ferguson (Mexico City, Mexico)
November 12th (PPV) – UFC 205 (Manhattan, New York)
November 19th (Fight Pass) – UFC Fight Night 99 (Belfast, Northern Ireland)
November 19th (FS1) – UFC Fight Night 100 (Brazil)
November 27th (26th in US, FS1) – UFC Fight Night 101 (Melbourne, Australia)
December 3rd (FS1) – The Ultimate Fighter 24 Finale (Las Vegas, Nevada)
December 9th* (Fight Pass) – UFC Fight Night 102 (Albany, New York)
December 10th (PPV) – UFC 206 (Toronto, Ontario, Canada)
December 17th (FOX) – UFC on FOX 22 (Sacramento, California)
December 30th* (PPV) – UFC 207 (Las Vegas, Nevada)
The * denotes Friday events.
Yup, the multi-event Fight Pass-FS1 days from 2014 are back with a vengeance on November 19th! The daytime event will be in Northern Ireland while the nightcap is in a Brazilian city TBD. Oh, and Sergey Kovalev vs. Andre Ward is on the same day, so you’re overloaded with combat sports on November 19th.
The last time the UFC had a Friday night PPV event was in 2011, when Brock Lesnar lost to Alistair Overeem at UFC 141. Moving the card to Friday was done to avoid having a pay-per-view on New Year’s Eve itself.
To recap, there are only three UFC-less weeks from August 20th (UFC 202) all the way through UFC 207 (December 30th). You get Christmas off, along with the 2nd half of October, but that’s it. You’re getting all the UFC you can handle.
