The new feature will allow users to tap a small “bookmark” icon to save posts for later. Saved posts will go to a new, private tab within your profile section in Instagram.

Instagram keeps giving us new features, and we’re not complaining!

Just when we thought Instagram Live Video and revamped comments were enough, Instagram is now rolling out a “Saved Posts” feature within its mobile app.

A new bookmark icon will appear underneath posts in your feed, and all you need to do is tap the icon to save it, and it will go directly to a new, private tab within your profile which features all the posts you’ve saved. And yes, only you can see which posts you save.

Most users typically screenshot Instagram posts or “Like” them in order to remember something or view them later. This feature will just about make that process obsolete.

For individuals that use saved content aggregators such as Pocket or Instapaper, this potentially presents a whole new challenge as social platforms are continuing to keep us in their playing field, rather than allow us to consume things where we want.

The “Save for Later” feature has been a part of Facebook for quite some time, allowing you to save articles, videos, photos, and just about anything you see in your News Feed. It’s a terrific tool considering it organizes content into different buckets, and users can archive posts and delete them in a straightforward way.
