With the hours ticking down until the Toronto 2015 Pan Am Games start, sightings of the Pan Am torch in the downtown core are about to become a lot more common.

The torch made a special appearance in the Pride Parade on Sunday, June 28 before leaving the city again.

It will return to Toronto for a special lighting ceremony on Saturday, July 4, making its way along the Bloor Viaduct as the bridge is lit up to commemorate the upcoming games.

The torch will make its way west along Bloor Street West from there just after 6:30 p.m., heading south down Jarvis Street and then back east along Wellesley Street East.

It will wend its way through the Beach neighbourhood on Sunday, July 5, tucking its way back into the downtown core on Monday, July 6 to visit Regent Park.

On Wednesday, July 8, the torch will be carried through Forest Hill and north into North Toronto.

Thursday, July 9 will see it travel through much of the downtown core, passing through the Kensington Market, Chinatown and Palmerston-Little Italy neighbourhoods. From there it will go north to Bloor and east to Christie Pits Park, where there will be a community torch celebration from 2:15 to 3:15 p.m.

Following the celebration, the torch will continue east along Bloor to Spadina, then south and around Queen’s Park, where it will stop briefly at 4:10 p.m.

At 4:20, it will continue east into the Church-Wellesley Village and through St. James Town and Regent Park before heading to Nathan Phillips Square for a party at 7 p.m.

On Friday, July 10, it will travel into the downtown core, passing through Kensington Market, the Toronto Islands and other neighbourhoods, with community celebrations on the islands, at Nathan Phillips Square and at Queen’s Quay.
