Wondering what to do for Canada Day? Not to worry, there are plenty of events going on around the city:

The City of Toronto will be hosting its annual Canada Day celebration at Mel Lastman Square. The festivities, scheduled to start at 5 p.m. on July 1, will feature acrobat circus performances, free face painting, several live bands and end with a fireworks finale.

Along with the fireworks display on June 30, Habourfront Centre will be presenting a number of live music and dance performances on July 1.

The Canada Day celebration at Queen’s Park will include a rocket-making workshop, a rock climbing wall, face painting, midway rides and a 21-gun salute at noon. The festivities run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

East York’s 58th annual Canada Day parade will start at Dieppe Park at 10 a.m. and make its way to Stan Wadlow Park by noon. Celebrations at Stan Wadlow Park, which include live entertainment and an antique car display, will begin at 11 a.m., with the Kiwanis Pool opening from noon to 7 p.m. The celebration will end with fireworks at 10:15 p.m. and the park will close at 11 p.m.

Q107 is hosting its annual Canada Day Picnic at Woodbine Park. The event, which starts at noon, is an “all-day music fest” with live bands playing tributes to bands and artists such as Green Day, Aerosmith, KISS and Bob Marley. Plus there will be midway rides, food and a beer garden.

The Neighbours Together on Canada Day event will start at noon at the southern end of Riverdale Park, near Broadview Ave. and Gerrard St. E. The event is co-ordinated by a number of local groups and will include “activities for all ages, information displays for agencies in our community and various vendors of delicious food.”

For baseball fans, the Toronto Blue Jays will be playing the Boston Red Sox at 1 p.m. July 1.

The Community Folk Art Council of Toronto is hosting the 9th Annual Multicultural Canada Day Celebration at Yonge-Dundas Square, which will showcase diverse dance and music groups from the Pan American countries in partnership with the Pan Am Games. The show starts at noon.
