Nescafé Original’s ‘Swooshy man’ Launches Brand Campaign

Nescafé Original’s new brand campaign aims to inspire a younger generation of coffee lovers, with the help of the “Swooshy man”, a long-haired man who leaves the house feeling great.

Created by Publicis London, “Swooshy man” launched on ITV last night to kick off Nescafé Original’s new “Leave like a legend” brand campaign.

The brand is promoting its “double-filtered, fuller flavour”. Publicis London’s executive creative director Dave Monk said the agency “cranked up the advertising” to match the updated flavour with “some bombastic daftness”.

The tongue-in-cheek spot opens with a young man who “swooshes” his mane of hair through a shower of coffee beans before thrusting his way to work down the street to the soundtrack of Whitesnake’s Here I Go Again.

The ad was written by Dan Kennard and art directed by Ben Smith at Publicis London. It was directed by Swedish combo Traktor through Rattling Stick, while Zenith is handling the media planning and buying.

Richard Howatson, Nescafé’s marketing director, said: “To celebrate the launch of our fullest flavoured Nescafé Original yet, we’re excited to share the ‘Leave like a legend’ campaign.

“We want to empower the nation to feel that they can leave the house like a legend every morning after a cup of Nescafé Original.”
